Our unit was established on September 10 1975 by the Executive Committee of the Popular Council of the Municipality of Constanta at the request of the County School Inspectorate.
From its founding until July 1st 2000 the unit had administered a boarding school of 180 and a cafeteria for daily meals both for the students who stayed in the boarding school and for those who went home to their families every day, week or trimester. In July 1st 2000, according to H.G. 261/2000, the Constanta County School Inspectorate through a Protocol signed by the qualified authorities made the General Direction for the Protection of Child's Rights responsible for the school and its auxiliary units and reorganized them into the "Traian" Foster Home in a new headquarters.
Currently we have a number of 140 students from all over the county studying from Ist to Xth grade distributed according to age and deficiency.
